Billava Sangha Kuwait (BSK) presents- “Billava Chavadi 2023” will be held on Friday, September 29, at Aspire Indian International School, Abbasiya from 4 pm onwards.
As the main attraction of this program, the much-awaited Tulu comedy drama "Itte Gottaapuji" will entertain the audience. This drama is directed by Mr. Mahesh Poojary Polali and exceptionally written by Mr. Vikram Manchi, who has played a very important role in the drama, and also, he will be the guest artist from Mangalore. He surely conspires to keep the audience spellbound.
Sangeetha Saurabha, Mr. Karthik Kadekar is an eminent musician involved in stage activities of more than 900 plays, Kannada and Tulu short movies. We are privileged to have him with us, as he comes to Kuwait from Mangalore to take full charge of the drama music.

Renowned Artist M.V. John Remembered
Mavelikara Bishop Moore College Alumni Association in Kuwait is organizing a memorial event in honor of the late artist M.V. John. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 16th, starting at 6:30 PM at the Abbasiya United Indian School.
Mr. M.V. John, a distinguished alumnus of Bishop Moore College, was an accomplished figure in various fields, including art, creative direction, television, and film. He passed away while undergoing treatment at Kuwait Chest Hospital in Kuwait. He had been actively involved in cultural and artistic activities in Kuwait for several decades and was a prominent figure in the Indian art community.
His contributions were particularly noteworthy in the area of "Former Communicators'' (iartco - Indian Art Company), a platform that he co-founded. The Bishop Moore College Alumni Association in Kuwait invites the public to participate in the memorial symposium dedicated to the memory of Mr. M.V. John. They hope that Kuwait's general public will recognize and appreciate the legacy of this remarkable individual.

Kuwait Cricket All Set To Host The Coveted ICC - International Cricket Council Men's Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour On The 10th & 11th Of August 2023
In a historic and unprecedented move, Kuwait Cricket Club, the official governing body for the game of cricket in Kuwait affiliated to the Public Authority of Sport & Kuwait Olympic Committee, in association with the International Cricket Council is all set to host the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy tour on the 10th and 11th of August 2023.
KCC Board led by the President Mr. Haider Farman, Vice President Mr. Faisal Al Marzouk, General Secretary Mr. Emad Al Jassam, Mr. Mahmoud Bastaki, Ms Awatef Al Qallaf and Director General Mr. Sajid Ashraf are all ecstatic to host the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour for the first time ever in the State of Kuwait.
KCC Board President Mr. Haider Farman who is also the Director of Asian Games at Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) as well as the Technical Director of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) thanked the International Cricket Council (ICC) for giving Kuwait this prestigious opportunity and declared this historic moment to be one of the biggest attractions for all cricket lovers in the State of Kuwait as it will give them all an opportunity to not only have glimpses of the biggest prize of the ICC Men’s World Cup (scheduled to take place in India later this year in October) but will also give them all an opportunity to take a memorable photo of themselves with their loved ones with the coveted trophy. The KCC President, Mr. Farman, a sportsman himself, added that the magnitude of this event will definitely encourage the concerned Government officials and sporting authorities to come forward, support the infrastructural development and appreciate how cricket as a sport unites all the communities residing in Kuwait and helps them feel at home away from home.

The 2023 edition of the Trophy Tour organized by the ICC will be the biggest by far, giving the fans a chance to connect with the coveted piece of silverware in various countries and cities around the globe.
The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Trophy will travel to 18 countries around the world, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, USA, Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy, the United States of America and the host country India.
The first full-scale Trophy Tour since 2019, the 2023 edition will provide cricket fans around the globe with a chance to recreate the celebratory and carnival atmosphere witnessed during the marquee event.

Thanima's drama "Macbeth" will stage on April 22 and 23
Drama Director Babuji Bathery announced in a press meet that William Shakespeare's world famous play "Macbeth" is ready to stage on Eid holidays on April 22, 23, 24 under the banner of Thanima Kuwait. Thanima's General Convener Babuji Bathery is writing the script, lyrics and performing direction and artist Sujathan is setting the stage for the play. Mustafa Ambadi will do the music, Udayan Anchal is handling background music, Manoj Mavelikara will compose the musics and Jayesh Kumar Varkala will handle the lights at the arena. Set design properties will be handled by Baptiste Ambrose. Background music will be composed by Jeeson Joseph. Jinu K Abraham and Vijesh Velayudhan are the co-directors.
Nataktanima convener Jacob Varghese is coordinating the organization including rehearsals.Around 40 artists and 40 technicians, with two months of hard-work for rehearsals & practices, Thanima is preparing a different experience this time with secrets that will delight the Indian expatriates and amaze the audience.
With admission starting at 6:30 PM and each show starting at 7:00 PM, Macbeth will be performed in front of 3,600 theatergoers over three days with 1,200 people per day.Overcoming the limitations of the diaspora , the cast members are finally putting the finishing touches to two months of rigorous training. Maurya Kala Parisar to Organise 9th Ethnic Food Festival on 5th May 2023
MKP’s Ethnic Food Festival has become an important part of the Event Calendar of Indian Community in Kuwait. The event consists of Competition of home cooked food from India along with Stalls where audience can enjoy popular dishes from the regions, ethnic wear and accessories. The event is scheduled to be held on Friday, 5th May 2023 at Indian Community School Senior Auditorium Salmiya from 1 PM onwards.
This year there has been a change in format. Instead having all categories specialising in eastern region cuisines, some categories have been opened for all Indian cuisines. However, one category has been made exclusive for Bihar and Jharkhand cuisines being the parent states of Maurya Kala Parisar. Every year there is a special category and this year the category is Healthy Corner with Millets.
The categories are as 1) Vegetarian 2 ) Non Vegetarian 3) Dessert which are open to all India Cuisines 4) Ethnic Food of Bihar & Jharkhand where genuine cuisines from the states will have weightage 5) Healthy Corner with Millets. Evaluation by Chefs and Food Connoisseurs judge the competition on the criteria of Taste / Presentation / Ethnicity (Indian or Bihar Jharkhand as applicable ). Participation is open to Indian community (members / non members).
There is not entry fee for the competition. One participant can submit entries in maximum two categories. Food should be home cooked by the participant and shall not be cooked at the venue.
