French Day 2015

The French students of FAIPS organised a cultural event, French Day 2015 under the theme ‘Le Voyage’. This event was completely organised by the French language students of class X, with an aim to celebrate and promote French culture. Five competitions; namely French Cuisine, T- shirt Designing, Word Building, French dance and French Song, were conducted for students of classes 8 and 9. The class X students showcased their talents in music and dance through guest performances during the same event.

The off stage events began on 20^th December, with the final round of Word Building. 4 students bagged prizes in this event. On 21^st December, the Cuisine and T-Shirt competitions took place in the school.

The program began on a musical note, with the beautiful renditions of French and English songs by a student band. The first event was the French song competition. The audience was treated to more French and English songs by a band from class X.

The next event, the dance competition, was a treat to the eye. Each participating group showed boundless enthusiasm and laudable talent. It was followed by the vibrant dance, a guest performance by the class X students which left the audience hungry for more.

To round off the program, a classic French event, Mime, was conducted on a hilarious theme. Soon after, a parade consisting of French personalities was held.

The program ended with the vote of thanks.

This event was a valuable lesson to the organising students in the art of event management and teamwork. It was a success due to the efforts of the French Department, the school management and collective interest of the students.
