ICSK FELICITATES OUTSTANDING ATHLETES

The Indian Community School Kuwait held a special felicitation ceremony for its outstanding athletes of the academic year 2013-14 on 14^th May, 2014. The winners, individual champions and record holders of the various track and field events held at the CBSE Kuwait Cluster athletics Meet were honoured. Noteworthy here is that these athletes brought glory to the school by clinching the CBSE Kuwait Cluster Athletics Championship for a record 12^th time in a row. The Under-16 Boys table tennis team of the school also won accolades at the ceremony for their victory in the CBSE Kuwait Cluster Boys Table Tennis tournament and also for winning the individual championship. The Physical Education teachers were lauded and awarded for their contribution in grooming the sportspersons of the ICSK.

On the occasion, Honorary Secretary to the Board of Trustees Mr. Vijay Karayil appreciated the leadership of the Head of the sports committee of the Board of trustees Mr. Binoy Thomas, the invaluable guidance of Khaitan Branch Principal Mr. K G Shirsath, who is the sports coordinator of the school and the dedication of the physical education department. His special words of encouragement and appreciation were for the children who have persevered to make the ICSK undisputed champions in Athletics for a record 12 times in a row. Speaking on the occasion, the sports coordinator Mr. K G Shirsath showered whole-hearted appreciation on the physical education teachers for their humility, politeness and modesty. Head of the sports committee of the Board of trustees Mr. Binoy Thomas also congratulated the physical education teachers and the talented sports persons of the Indian Community School. He also appreciated the school management for the necessary support. Mr. Binoy concluded the ceremony by quoting an advice that Sachin Tendulkar’s father gave to Sachin,”chase your dreams, but make sure you do not find short cuts. The path might be difficult, but don't give up.”
