A Landmark Occasion at ICSK – Leaders’ Conclave with Dr. Ram Shankar Professor and Director, CBSE, Regional Office and Centre of Excellence, Dubai

Conclave 2The Indian Community School, Kuwait proudly hosted The Leaders’ Conclave on 15th October 2025, marking a landmark moment in the educational history of Kuwait. The event brought together the school management representatives and principals of 24 CBSE-affiliated schools in Kuwait under one umbrella, fostering collaboration and dialogue for the advancement of education.

The event was graced by Dr. Ram Shankar, Professor and Director, CBSE, Regional Office and Centre of Excellence, Dubai, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Baija Nath Prasad, Second Secretary, Embassy of India, Kuwait, as the Guest of Honour. Among the distinguished dignitaries present were Mr. Shaik Abdul Rahiman, Honorary Chairman to the Board of Trustees, ICSK, and Mr. Azharuddin Amer Mohammed, Honorary Secretary to the Board of Trustees, ICSK, along with principals, and management representatives from the CBSE schools in Kuwait.

The session began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Ms. Fareeha Junaid, followed by a soulful prayer song rendered by the school choir, Swaranjali. The gathering stood in honor of the Kuwait National Anthem, setting a tone of respect and unity.

Dr. V. Binumon, General Convenor of the CBSE First International Conference 2025 and Senior Administrator & Principal of The Indian Community School, Kuwait, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the significance of the conclave as a platform to exchange ideas and strengthen educational cooperation. He highlighted that the main agenda was to brief the gathering about the forthcoming first-ever CBSE International Conference to be held in Dubai on the 4th and 5th of November 2025 at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Dubai, UAE.

The esteemed Guest of Honour, Mr. Baija Nath Prasad lauded the efforts of the Indian schools in Kuwait and spoke about the importance of the Indian education system and the need to instill Indian values and cultural ethos among students.

The Chief Guest Dr. Ram Shankar, in his inspiring keynote address, shed light on the vast CBSE family comprising 22 countries and over 32,000 schools. He emphasized the collective responsibility of every stakeholder in ensuring quality education and holistic development. Dr. Shankar announced the establishment of the CBSE Regional Office in Dubai, which will manage key functions such as evaluation, affiliation, and extension work, thereby enhancing efficiency and accessibility for schools in the Middle East region.

He elaborated on the National Education Policy (NEP) and its alignment with the India Global Curriculum, designed to incorporate 21st-century skills and meet global educational requirements. He also discussed the contextual diversity of different countries and how CBSE aims to cater to these varied aspirations through innovative pedagogies, best practices, and effective classroom strategies.

Dr. Shankar further detailed the upcoming CBSE International Conference in Dubai, which will feature renowned speakers, vice-chancellors, educationists, and senior CBSE officers. He explained that such conferences play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration, sharing insights, and formulating new strategies for the betterment of education. These gatherings provide interactive sessions where participants can engage directly with experts, exchange ideas, and address real-time challenges faced by schools.

Highlighting the importance of stakeholder involvement, Dr. Shankar stressed that principals, educators, and management teams are the backbone of the education system, driving change and ensuring quality standards. He also announced the launch of In-Service Teachers’ Training Programmes by the Centre of Excellence, Dubai, aimed at enhancing teachers’ professional skills, updating pedagogical knowledge, and promoting lifelong learning.

He concluded his address by inviting all management representatives and principals to actively participate in the upcoming CBSE International Conference, reaffirming the spirit of collective growth and academic excellence.

As a token of respect and gratitude, a memento was presented to the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Ram Shankar, by Mr. Shaik Abdul Rahiman and Dr. V. Binumon. This was followed by self-introductions by all attending management representative and principals, an open forum where they interacted directly with the Chief Guest, seeking clarifications and sharing insights.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mrs. Asha Sharma, Principal of Indian Learners Own Academy, Kuwait. She expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and all participants for making the conclave a resounding success.

The event concluded on a note of inspiration and togetherness, leaving every participant motivated to contribute towards a stronger, more innovative educational community. The Leaders Conclave served as a meaningful step towards collaboration and excellence among CBSE schools in Kuwait.
