Keeping Alive the Spirit of National and Liberation day

aliveKick starting the spirited atmosphere of National and Liberation Day celebrations of Kuwait, India International School, Mangaf observed the day highlighting the iconic history behind the independence of Kuwait.  Rejoicing in the spirit of nationalism, with pride and salutation to our host country, a weeklong celebration is planned starting from 15th of February 2016. On this momentous occasion, students were typically attired in traditional and flag coloured dress. The well decorated corridors gave a new facelift to the appearance of the school and promoted a sense of unity and harmony among the multinational student community. Saluting the rich legacy of Arabic language over the globe, the whole week was also observed as Arabic Week. An assortment of activities was planned to promote and enhance Arabic communication skills. The festivities unraveled with the special assemblies arranged by all the sections separately which was dedicated to the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of this beautiful country.

asdAssemblies were presented by the Senior and Junior Sections on 15th and 17th February respectively. Kuwait’s national language perpetuated a dignified place in the programme. The gesture and the mannerism of the Kuwait’s tradition and culture were well imbibed by the students. The highlights of the programme were dance performances, speech, poem recitation, conversation, solo and group songs, presentation of moral values, etc. which proclaimed the hallmark of the country’s rich tradition and benevolent culture. The skit on moral values engraved the spiritual aspects of an honest life. Competitions like Arabic Handwriting, Poster and Arabic Dictionary Making were also conducted by the Junior Section during the week. The pinnacle of the festivities will be with a grand programme by the KG Section on 24th February.

The esteemed presence of Mr. Khalid and Mr. Nabeel, the inspectors from the Ministry of Education, elevated the merriment of the occasion. They were extremely happy to witness the unconditional love for Kuwait that the students and teachers of IISM demonstrated throughout the celebration. They also stated that they were pleased by the hospitality and benevolence of the Indians and added that such gestures will further strengthen the ties between India and Kuwait. The School Director, Mr. Malayil Moosa Koya, Principal, Sr. Vice Principal and Vice Principals also witnessed the proceedings encouraging the students all the way.

The School Director addressed the gathering in Arabic and he extended special appreciation  to the departments of Arabic and Islamic, students and teachers who were tirelessly toiling for making this event a memorable one.
