ICSK Junior Celebrates 57th Foundation Day
The Indian Community School, Kuwait Junior celebrated in the first week of May, the 57th Foundation Day, in grand colourful magnificent splendor through special assemblies.
Students through speech and dialogue communicated the history of the school. The Indian Community School was founded on 5thMay, 1959, with only 22 students. It was the initiative of 9 Indians who realized the need of a school for the Indian children in Kuwait. The ICSK was the first Indian school in Kuwait. Growing from strength to strength, the school now has nearly 6500 students across 4 branches in Kuwait.
The quality assemblies were spectacular. Melodious group songs, vibrant dance showering blessings and student chain dance representing ethnic diversities echoed the theme of 'LONG LIVE ICSK' and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ICSK; leaving all spellbound.
Pictorial and print-rich bulletin boards occupied a pride of place in the school premise.
The assemblies were an opportune time to award, honor and applaud the contributions of students to the special supplement of IIK, in the form of articles, artwork and poems. With similar enthusiasm, the second runner ups in Indian Basketball Association (IBA) tournament both girls and boys in under 10 and 12 category were honored with their cups, medals and certificates.
Indeed a day to rejoice for ICSK Junior both in academic and extracurricular activities.
Principal Mrs. Sherly Dennis and Vice-Principal Mrs. Gomathy Murthy, spoke about the achievements of the school in all the fields like academics, sports and co-curricular and indicated that the work of the premier institution is moving forward in leaps and bounds. They acknowledged the fostering care of the management, the beneficence of the affluent, the confidence of the parent community and the positive energy of students. Participants and the dedication of the staff were applauded beyond measure.
