An inter-house debate competition was held at FAIPS DPS ON 30^th April 2015. All the six houses (Faith, Hope, Harmony, Peace, Truth and Trust) participated in it. In order to avoid the monotony of the same topic being discussed by all the participants, the teams were divided based on the draw of lots into three pools such as Pool A, B and C. Each team was given a separate topic and one hour to prepare their deliberations. The topics were “Social Networking sites have become an effective tool in modern times”, “Peer pressure is necessary in improving a student’s performance”, “Is Co-education good idea in school?” for the three pools respectively. The winners of the different pools were :Pool A, the Opposition, Trust House; Pool B, the Proposition, Harmony House; and Pool C, The Opposition, Hope House. One speaker was adjudged the best speaker from each of these pools. From Pool A, Santhra John of IX H; Pool B, Anjali Sunil of XG and Pool C Tanu Tomar of XII B were declared the best speakers. Based on the consolidation of the performances of the individual speakers, the three houses which secured the first three positions were Harmony, Hope and Faith respectively. It was a good exercise that provided the opportunity to the students to deliberate and debate their points of view with panache and proficiency. The Principal declared the results and congratulated the participants.
