Republic day celebrated at ICSK Junior

Repday

Republic day marks India's adoption of a republic constitution of India. It is also celebrated as a National Festival of India. To express the deep love and gratitude for the native country India, the students of the ndian Community School Junior, Salmiya celebrated the 66th Republic day.

The event was marked by grand celebration and many activities, planned meticulously, showcasing the inherent talents of students. To commemorate this occasion and accommodate all classes, special assemblies, were conducted in segments on 27th and 28th January 2015.

The assembly commenced with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran followed by the school prayer. Inspiring thought enlightened and awakened the minds of the students.

Few students presented thematic skit on the values of the Fundamental rights, and Secularism enshrined in the Indian Constitution. Reminding the saga of sacrifice of the Indian Freedom fighters’ students paid a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagath Singh and Lal Lajpat Rai and to the Indian Army. The dance drama depicting the brave hearts; choreographed and displayed on republic day aroused patriotism and the spirit of nationalism deeply infused and inspired children. Indian culture was presented in all its colors, vitality and imagination. The most striking feature of the students clad in the flag colors of India, unfurling the flag, singing patriotic songs and celebrating this momentous occasion was enigmatic. The school echoed with patriotic fervor to mark the occasion; as the children drew scenes of Republic Day celebrations.

The participants brought the stage alive with their passion and love for the motherland. The assemblies, educating children all about the national integration of India was splendid indeed.

Our most respected Principal Mrs. Sherly Dennis, in her address, congratulated the students and made them realize the true meaning of patriotism towards our motherland.. They were reminded on how the students of today hold the future of their country in their hands. It is important for the welfare of the country that its present generation should realize that the future is in its hands.

On this memorable event; Principal and Vice Principal, honored and adorned the winners of CCA competition.

Finally the assembly concluded with the singing of the Indian National Anthem.
