MEGA FUN & EXCITEMENT AT THE 12th ICSK CARNIVAL

icskThe Indian Community School Kuwait held an exciting 12th Mega Carnival on 16th January, 2015 at the Senior School premises.

The carnival kicked off to a colorful start with a grand inauguration ceremony. Director of Private Education Mr. Abdullah Al-Basri was the Chief Guest for the occasion.Shri Shubashis Goldar, Deputy Chief of Mission and Chief Public Information Officer at the Indian Embassy was the Guest of Honour for the day. Honorary Vice-Chairman to the Board of trustees Mr. Bobby Mathew, Honorary Secretary Mr. Vijay Karayil, Honorary treasurer Mr. C. Sunil Kumar, Hon. Joint Secretary Mr. George Mathew, carnival convener Mr. Sherin Mani, other esteemed members of the Board of trustees, Mr. Kuldeep Singh Lamba and Mr. Shivy Bhasin from the Council of Elders, the parent representatives to the Board, elected members of the Parent Advisory Council, Principals and Vice-Principals of all ICSK schools, invited eminent Indians in Kuwait, Staff members, students, parents and other guests bestowed their gracious presence on the occasion. Hon. Secretary Mr. Vijay Karayil, in the welcome speech, appreciated the staff for their sincere efforts in putting up a marvelous event. Mr. Bobby Mathew, in the Presidential address, highlighted the noble cause of this fund-raising event. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour addressed the audience and appreciated the efforts of the management. The inaugural ceremony saw wonderful dance performances by students of ICSK Junior School and the grand entry of the carnival mascot, a beautifully crafted life-like model of a camel. The release of colourful balloons into the bright morning sky marked the carnival open. A souvenir commemorating the 12th Mega Carnival was also released on the occasion.

icskThe eagerly-awaited annual event attracted people in huge numbers. People across age-groups enjoyed the exciting games, on-the-spot prizes, bingo, bargains on various items, flash-mob, battle of bands, song and dance programmes, entry of cartoon characters and magic-show among others. A special session by the fire-fighters of Kuwait was highly informative. The Masters of Ceremonies for the day Lloyd and Neeta kept the crowds enthralled with their power-packed energetic voices and a variety of fun and games for all age-groups. The visitors thronged the stalls and the center-stage was also charged-up with excitement.  The crowd went in a rhapsody as the Kuwaiti-singer Mubarak took the stage and sang some hit Hindi songs with the ICSK golden voice Ms. Julia Anil. Master Tojan, an ex-ICSK student also entertained with his mesmerizing voice. 60 lucky winners were declared in the mega Raffle Draw.

The ICSK Mega Carnival is one of the largest of its kind that is driven by the noble purpose of creating a "School Welfare Fund" to meet the educational needs of the less-privileged students. The success of the Mega Carnival, an event of unparalleled scale and grandeur, is commendable.
