NIOS inauguration at ICSK

The Indian Community School Kuwait added another milestone to its illustrious history with the inauguration of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) classes on 1st October, 2014. Mr. Shiv Sagar, Second Secretary, Community and Educational wing of the Indian Embassy, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Honorary Secretary to the Board of Trustees Mr. Vijay Karayil presided over the function. Honorary Vice-Chairman to the Board Mr. Bobby Mathew, Honorary Joint-Secretary Mr. George Mathew, other members of the BOT, members of the Parent Advisory Council, Principals and Vice-Principals of all branches of the ICSK and parents graced this occasion.
Principal of ICSK Senior Dr. V Binumon welcomed all the guests to the occasion and prompted the students to take advantage of this opportunity. Mr. Bobby Mathew stressed that the NIOS classes at ICSK campus is indeed a blessing for the Indian students in Kuwait. In his Presidential address, Mr. Vijay Karayil said that with the inauguration of NIOS classes, ICSK has further fulfilled the promise of serving all sections of the society by providing affordable and quality education. He appreciated the efforts of the Principals of ICSK in bringing NIOS to the ICSK and thanked the Indian Embassy for their support and efforts. In the inaugural address, Mr. Shiv Sagar congratulated the School for this initiative of helping the Indian community. Principal of ICSK Amman Mr. Rajesh Nair C. and Principal of ICSK Khaitan also spoke on the occasion and stressed on the role of the school as a facilitator. Vice-Principal ICSK Senior Dr. Sam T Kuruvilla delivered the vote of thanks and reminded the students that the NIOS has provided another opportunity to attain the unreachable.
ICSK recently received accreditation to conduct open school classes from the National Institute of Open Schooling, Ministry of HRD, New Delhi. It is also the first school in the Gulf to conduct the CBSE and the NIOS curriculum in parallel. NIOS offers certification for the secondary and senior secondary classes which is equivalent to that of the CBSE. It provides opportunity to the students who have not been able to continue their education through regular schooling. NIOS students at the ICSK will get not only get the same facilities but also the same dedicated faculty and world-class infrastructure. The students have a wide range of subjects to choose from. Many students have already enrolled and registrations are going on for the Senior and Senior Secondary (X & XII) NIOS classes at ICSK. Indeed, it is a golden opportunity to get educated at ICSK, through NIOS.
