INTER-SCHOOL ATHLETIC MEET 2013-14
The first interschool athletic meet for the primary section was organized by FAIPS,DPS on 15th December 2013 at KOC stadium ,Ahmadi. The event was marked by a string of spectacular performances presented by the students, who were brimming with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The grand opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Rajesh Gairola,General Manager, AL Mulla Trading Company, Principal, FAIPS, Mrs.Anju Dheman, Vice Principal, Mr.Ravi Ayanoli, Headmistress, Mrs.Vineeta Munshi, Principals of other schools and a galaxy of VIPs.
The march past of the Houses showcased discipline and sincere practice by the students. The sports captain administered the solemn Oath to the House Captains and the participants. The chief guest, Mr.Rajesh Gairola declared the sports meet open and released colorful balloons with the banner -“RUN FOR PEACE” symbolizing the vibrant hopes calling us to follow its flight higher and higher in chasing our dreams. The sports torch was carried by the school Sports Captains and House Captains.
The welcome song –‘We are the World’ was sung beautifully by the FAIPS choral group, followed by the drill display of boys forming the emblem of Peace. This great show was followed by another display by the little girls of FAIPS. There was the formation-‘RUN FOR PEACE’-the theme of the day spreading the message of unity of all colors to achieve peace, was a vibrant show indeed.
Students from seven schools(Indian Educational School, Salmiya Indian Model School, Jabriya Indian School, Integrated Indian School, Learner’s Own Academy, AL-Amal Indian School and FAIPS) participated in the various athletic events under different categories. FAIPS,DPS stood first with 105 points, followed by Indian Educational School with 51 points and Learner’s Own Academy with 37 points.
Mr.Ismail Abdulla, Deputy Managing Director of Kuwait Oil Company gave away the prizes for the winners.
The event came to an end leaving thrilling memories in the hearts of each and every one present.
