In a recent update shared on the official X platform, the Traffic and Operations Affairs Sector revealed that, as part of the Ministry of Interior's digitization efforts, the printing of various driving permits has been officially discontinued. This includes permits for:

• Fare services
• On-demand fare services
• Driving instructors
• Public buses
• Mobile fares
• Individual driving instructors
• Vans

With the new digital version available through the MOI app, users can now manage their permits conveniently without the need for physical copies.

Exceptions for Truck Drivers

A security source emphasized that the digital permits are currently limited to expatriates. However, an exception exists for truck drivers who regularly travel outside of Kuwait for work. These drivers will continue to carry their physical driving licenses and permits due to the specific demands of their jobs.

This shift towards digital driving permits not only enhances efficiency but also aligns with the broader objective of modernizing services within the Ministry of Interior. Expatriates in Kuwait can now enjoy a hassle-free experience managing their driving permits.
