It is expected that the Ministry of Education will terminate the services of around 1,800 expatriate teachers on February 5, according to Al- Anba daily. As a result, the concerned teachers will have sufficient time to prepare for termination, which will take effect at the end of the current academic year.

According to the source, the ministry is keen on implementing Kuwaitization policies in educational institutions, especially for subjects where Kuwaiti teachers or those born to Kuwaiti women who married non-Kuwaitis are sufficient. In accordance with its Kuwaitization policy, the ministry announced two days ago it would recruit Kuwaitis, Kuwaiti citizens born to Kuwaiti wives who marry non-Kuwaitis, Bedouns, and citizens of other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
