A new method has been introduced by Kuwait's Central Bank to detect counterfeit banknotes by establishing a unified mechanism for local banks to use in the event that they detect a forged note, reports Al- Rai daily.

The regulatory update, which will be implemented on Jan 1, will ensure the detection of counterfeit banknotes by requiring a memorandum of deposit.
