Customs Tightens Its Grip On Food Smuggling

As part of its efforts to combat the smuggling of food, the General Administration of Customs has banned the export of fresh eggs from October 1 through May 31, 2023.

Customs officials decided to deal with smuggled foodstuffs by imposing a fine of 50 percent of the value of the seized goods with clearance in case the violator or his representative fails to pay the fine imposed on him after the lapse of 15 days.
