S.M Arif Maricar is working as a Document Controller in the Ministry of Electricity and Water at Az-Zour Gas Turbine Power Station Project under the sponsorship of Parsons Brinkerhoff Inc. He was born in the town of Karaikkal, in the Union Territory of Pondicherry, India,  to the couple Mohamed Sultan Maricar and Asiya Mariyam.
 
At the social level, he associated closely with the Tamil Nadu Muslim Cultural Association, popularly known as TMCA, Kuwait as its Chief Media Secretary, Treasurer and Vice-President.  Also, he is an active member of the Kuwait Tamil Islamic Committee (K-Tic), Majlis Ihya’a Sunnah (MISK) and Quaid-e-Millath Forum (QMF), Kuwait as its Treasurer for two years and as Media Secretary for two years.  His main motto is to serve the public at large irrespective of caste, colour etc.
 
He is well-known globally in Facebook as Kariakal Mohamed Arif Maricar, reaching out to millions with news and events updates, not only in Kuwait but also giving global coverage for the benefit of the concerned persons. Moreover, he is actively involved with various other Associations, as Advisor / Well-wisher and associate with them, in their good community services.
 
He studied up to S.S.L.C. (Secondary School) at GPGH School, Karaikkal. He actively participated in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Junior Division for a period of two years during 1977 and 1978. Later on, he did a Computer Science Course at Lakhotia Computer Center, Chennai and also completed an Executive Development Programme.
 
He came to Kuwait  in the year 1979 and having  wide experience in the field of documentation, labour welfare  and administration  at various companies like Al-Kulaib International Trading Co., M/s. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, Az-Zour Gas Turbine Power Station Project with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd.
 
Then he returned to India in the year 1988 and started Al-Aman Hostel and Al-Aman English School, which were successfully run from 1988 to 1992. 
 
In the year 1992, he came back to Kuwait and joined as a Clerk in Al-Sraye’a International Group Co. and worked till 1995, holding overall document control and all other works related to the Administration Department. 
 
Then He moved to M/s. Merz and Mclellan, Consultant, Ministry of Electricity & Water as a Technical Clerk at Subiya Power Station Project, maintaining incoming and outgoing document transmittals and ensuring comprehensive filing systems at the biggest Power Plant Project in Kuwait, which also involved Data updating, erection and commissioning activities, scheduling work plans etc.,
 
Presently, He is working as a Document Controller since 2003 under the sponsorship of Parsons Brinkerhoff Inc. who is a Consultant to Ministry of Electricity and Water at Az-Zour Gas Turbine Power Station Project. The position includes maintaining incoming and outgoing Documents, Letters and ensuring a comprehensive Filing system at the biggest Gas Power Plant Project in Kuwait. It also involves data updating of erection and commissioning activities, scheduling work plans etc.,
 
He got married to Fathima Kani, (D/o. (Late) M.M. Nather Shahib Maricar, Muthavalli of Karikkal and Shaik Mohamed Natchiyar) in 1989 and the couple was blessed with two daughters and a son; elder daughter Sahira Banu is married to Mohamed Al-Fahad Maricar, is the son of Amirudeen Maricar of Karaikkal. The second daughter Yousuf Zulaikha  is joining B.COM, and son Sultan Maricar is studying 1Oth Standard.
