Pravasi Legal Cell Kuwait Chapter Celebrated Fifth Anniversary
The Pravasi Legal Cell Kuwait Chapter celebrated its fifth anniversary with grandeur. Dr. Shaikha Umm Rakan Al Sabah, Head of the Kuwait Elite Team and Goodwill ambassador, officially inaugurated the event. The ceremony took place at the Costa Del Sol Hotel, Kuwait City with Adv. Jose Abraham, Global President of the Pravasi Legal Cell and Supreme Court AOR, was the Chief guest.
Mr. Biju Stephen, The President of the Pravasi Legal Cell Kuwait Chapter, presided over the function, where Mr. Babu Francis, representative of the Loka Kerala Sabha and Country Head of the PLC Kuwait Chapter, delivered the keynote address. The event began with a welcome by General Secretary Mr. Shyjith K. Various prominent figures including Lawyer Jabir Al-Failakawi, Lawyer Thalal Taki, Mr. Sunil Parakkappadath, The Chairman of Royal Seagull Group, Mr. Aseem Sayeed Sulaiman, The Head of Business Development at Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group, Ms. Lama Ibrahim, The Marketing Manager at Medex Medical Group, Dr. Susovna Sujith Nair, Vice President of the Indian Doctors Forum, Lawyer Haifa Al-Huwaidi, Board Member of the Kuwait Human Rights Society, and renowned playback singer Mrs. Sindhu Devi Ramesh attended the event.
The ceremony honored Ms. Shyni Frank, recipient of the Garshom Pravasi Vanitha Award 2024 along with the event sponsors and distinguished guests with mementos. Treasurer Mr. Rajesh Gopi expressed a vote of thanks, while the program coordinator, Ms. Shini Frank, who is also the International Coordinator of the PLC Ladies wing, managed the event's coordination.
The event saw participation from social and cultural workers, media professionals, members of the Kuwait Society for Human Rights, and expatriate Indians from various sectors, along with more than fifty Kuwaiti citizens who came forward to collaborate with the PLC Kuwait Chapter. The Pravasi Legal Cell Kuwait Chapter Patron Mr. Jayakumar, along with advisory board member Dr. Sabu P.S., Coordinator Anil Kumar, Vice President Charles P. George, and Joint Secretary Sreekumar led the events. Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, former Supreme Court Judge Justice Kurian Joseph, and former Kerala High Court Judge Justice C.S. Rajan are the patrons of the Pravasi Legal Cell.
Intending to provide legal advice, counseling, and legal awareness free of charge to the Indian expatriate community, various chapters of the PLC operating within India and in foreign countries collaborate with legal experts and advocates in those countries to provide services. All Indian expatriates can seek legal advice through the Pravasi Legal Cell Kuwait Chapter without any fee.
