FAIPS(DPS) Donates to Nepal Relief Fund for Earthquake Victims
FAIPS(DPS), Kuwait, made its mark in the anals of humanitarian history, by reaching out to the victims of the Nepal earthquake, empathizing with their plight.The picturesque Himalayan country of Nepal was hit by two massive earthquakes in quick succession, two weeks ago ,leaving innumerable people homeless. DPS, Kuwait, extended its solidarity with the Nepalese people, by presenting a cheque of KD9,161.550 to the Nepalese Ambassador to Kuwait ,His Excellency Yagya Bahadur Hamal ,in the morning Assembly, on Monday 25 May,2015.Both the students and staff donated generously to the cause in the true spirit of giving and caring. Some of the students donated from their monthly pocket money, leaving the Ambassador deeply touched and grateful.

This humane act synchronised well with the theme of the Morning Assembly ‘Dream, Dare, Do’, making it possible for the displaced and homeless to follow their dreams and fulfilling them. The Principal, in her address to the school, lauded the students and emphasized on the need of the feeling of sensitivity for their bretheren. The Ambassador too was impressed by the efforts of the students and congratulated them on their benevolent thought for the people of Nepal, specially the children. He said that it was the largest amount he had received so far, and he felt comforted, realising that Nepal was not alone in a crisis like this; that it had friendly neighbours. He further went on to assure that the funds would be rightly utilized to rehabilitate the affected people and the destitute. The morning’s proceedings came to a close with the proud rendition of the Indian National Anthem.
