GYANOSTAV - AN EXPOSITION OF KNOWLEDGE AT ICSK
The Indian Community School Senior organised Gyanotsav, an educational exhibition, as a sequel to the foundation day celebrations organised by the school.
The function was presided over by Mr. Bobby Mathew, Hon. Vice-Chairman of Board of Trustees, Hon. Secretary Mr. Vijay Karayil and other distinguished members of the Board of Trustees, members of the Parent Advisory Council, the Principal of ICSK Senior, the Vice-Principal, staff and students of the school witnessed the opening ceremony. The exhibition featured innovative designs from students who crafted unique working models, still models and charts for the occasion. The event began with the recital from the holy Quran followed by the school prayer. The Principal Dr.V.Binumon welcomed the distinguished gathering. The chief guest Dr. Najat Dherab, Consultant – Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Ministry of Kuwait, in the inaugural address, exhorted students to pursue innovative experiments which would be beneficial to the world.
Mr. Bobby Mathew, the Vice Chairman to the Board of Trustees, elucidated on the aspects of education and the necessity of widening the scope of education through such events. Mr. Vijay Karayil presented the chief guest with a memento as a token of love and appreciation. The eminent guests were taken to cut the ribbon and to officially declare the fair open for the public. The auditorium was transformed into a bank, by the department of Commerce and the Commerce students disguised themselves as bank officials and addressed to the queries of the customers.
The array of working models presented by the Science department caught the attention of the public. Lucid explanation and clear presentation made the laws and theories simple before the viewers. The theorems of great mathematicians, along with applied mathematics used in everyday life were presented by the department of Mathematics. The department of Social Sciences depicted the Harappan culture in comparison to the present life style of India. A huge map made out of sand received public recognition.
The English Language department took the public on a tour through the different ages and tried to conjure the spirit of the Shakespearean Tragedy " Julius Caesar " along with a dramatisation of the ‘Seven Ages’. The department of Hindi brought out the beauty of language and literature through the models, charts and presentation. The department of French captivated the crowd by trying to recreate the atmosphere of Paris the capital of France.
The department of Fashion Technology arrayed a collection of trendy chic designs of attires and accessories to capture public attention. The Home Science department provided a feast to the taste buds along with the French department. The delicious delicacies were sold straight from the oven. Unique individualistic creations by the students displayed in the department of Arts gained general acclamation. In a stressful world the significance of yoga was demonstrated by the yoga corner. The musical team of ICSK put up a live performance which was the icing on the cake.
Prizes were awarded to winners based on the judgement made by eminent panel in two categories – Secondary and Senior Secondary.
