Activation of the Smart Fingerprint System at Important Energy Sites

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy has launched smart fingerprint technology at several key locations, including Doha West, Doha East, and Shuwaikh stations. This initiative is aimed at streamlining operations for approximately 5,000 employees working at these sites, as well as at the warehouse management in Subhan and emergency services.

Purpose and Benefits of the Smart Fingerprint System

The primary objective of this advanced technology is to improve operational efficiency and security at critical locations. The application ensures secure access control and smooth workflows by allowing employees to use their phones for fingerprint identification, which is connected to sensor accessories installed at designated sites.

The Ministry sources confirmed to Al-Jarida that the smart fingerprint application is highly secure, frequently updated, and supported by a specialized team of male and female engineers. This initiative is part of a broader project aimed at modernizing the ministry’s entire fingerprint system, which began in 2021.

Security Features and Technological Advancements

The Ministry emphasizes that the fingerprint system is linked to advanced sensor accessories at the designated stations. However, the application will only function within these specific locations, ensuring a secure and restricted access environment. The Ministry also highlighted the importance of the application's secure technical conditions and requirements, ensuring that it meets all necessary standards for sensitive environments.

Integration of Smart Fingerprints and Traditional Devices

While the smart fingerprint application is being activated, traditional fingerprint devices will continue to operate at various sites. The Ministry clarified that these devices are efficient and remain crucial for access control. The new application serves as a supplementary tool to reduce congestion at fingerprint devices and ease the overall process for employees.

Acknowledgment and Future Plans

The Ministry expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the fingerprint team, which worked diligently to ensure that the application was successfully activated at all relevant sites. The Ministry remains committed to keeping pace with modern technological advancements and intends to continue enhancing its operations to better serve the public.

Moreover, the Ministry also mentioned that future updates to the fingerprint system would be implemented to further optimize its performance, ensuring that it stays aligned with the latest innovations in technology.
