ICSK Hosts World Hindi Diwas - A Celebration of Language, Culture and Young Voices

Hindi Diwas 2026 1The Embassy of India, Kuwait, in its heartfelt endeavor to celebrate and promote the beauty, depth, and cultural soul of the Hindi language, organized the World Hindi Diwas Celebration 2026. As part of this meaningful initiative, the Indian Community School, Kuwait was entrusted with the proud responsibility of organizing and conducting the Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition on 5th January 2026.

This prestigious literary event brought together young voices from 18 CBSE schools who came forward with confidence, creativity and deep love for their mother tongue. A total of 46 students participated across three thoughtfully designed themes—Meri Pyari Bhasha for Primary students, Meri Bhasha – Mera Abhiman for Classes V to VIII, and Mera Desh – Meri Pehchan for Classes IX to XII—each beautifully reflecting the emotional bond between language, identity and nation.

The programme commenced with a graceful inaugural ceremony that set a serene and inspiring tone for the day. The soulful Islamic prayer by Miss. Abeer Adnan Gulati filled the atmosphere with peace. The gathering honored the Kuwait National Anthem, symbolizing respect and gratitude to the host nation. This was followed by a melodious welcome song that touched hearts and created a spiritually uplifting ambience. A vibrant and energetic welcome dance then captivated the audience, adding colour, rhythm and joy to the celebration.

The welcome address by Mrs. Susan Rajesh, Vice Principal of ICSK, touched hearts as she encouraged and inspired the young participants, reminding them that every word spoken in Hindi carries the weight of history, culture, and emotion. The significance of the Hindi language was further highlighted through the thoughtful words of Master Madhu Manu, leaving the audience reflective and proud. Vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Nitin V.M., Head of the Department of Hindi drew curtains to the inaugural ceremony.

As the competition unfolded, the stage came alive with young voices pouring their emotions into every verse. From innocent expressions of love for the language to powerful reflections on identity, pride, and the nation, each performance left a lasting impression. The thoughtful use of expressions, voice modulation, and simple yet meaningful props added depth to the recitations, making the poems resonate with the audience. More than a contest, it became a celebration of confidence, creativity, and cultural connection, where every participant emerged as a winner for carrying forward the legacy and spirit of the Hindi language with sincerity and passion.

The valedictory ceremony marked a graceful conclusion to this enriching event. It began once again with the Islamic prayer by Ms. Abeer Adnan Gulati, followed by a warm welcome address by Mrs. Mini Shaji, Deputy Vice Principal of ICSK. The presence and inspiring address of the Chief Guest, Shri Baija Nath Prasad, Second Secretary (Education, Library and Culture), Embassy of India in Kuwait, added immense value to the occasion. His words on the importance of Hindi as a language that binds generations and cultures left a deep impact on the audience.

The Chief Guest honored the judges with mementos as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for their valuable contribution, and in turn, he was presented with a memento by Mrs. Susan Rajesh as a token of gratitude and respect. The participants were also honored with certificates presented by the Chief Guest, acknowledging their effort, confidence, and love for the Hindi language. The programme concluded on a note of gratitude with a sincere vote of thanks by Mr. Nitin V.M., Head of the Department of Hindi, followed by Kuwait National Anthem. The winners of the Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition will be formally honoured and awarded at the Embassy of India, Kuwait on Saturday, 10 January 2026, as part of the World Hindi Diwas celebrations, marking a proud and memorable moment for all.

The Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition was not merely an event, but a celebration of emotions, identity, and cultural pride. It beautifully hoghlighted that Hindi is not just a language spoken, but a feeling lived—one that connects hearts across borders and generations, making the World Hindi Diwas 2026 truly memorable and meaningful.
