Three Fests, One Vision: GIS Inspires Excellence Beyond Classrooms

9Y7A0121 LargeGulf Indian School, Kuwait, emerged as a hub of intellectual vibrancy and creative expression this November, hosting three distinguished interschool competitions across the Departments of Arabic, Mathematics, and English. The events drew schools from across Kuwait, reflecting a shared commitment to academic excellence, cultural appreciation, and innovation.

Arabic Fest – Ambassadors of the Arabic Language

The celebrations began on 9 November with the Arabic Fest, Ambassadors of the Arabic Language. Seven schools participated in competitions such as Melodies of Arabic, Knights of Poetry Recitation, and Treasures of the Arabic Language. Professor Manal

Al-Azmi, Technical Supervisor for the Arabic Language, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour, while a panel of esteemed judges ensured fairness and expertise. Winners were awarded medals and certificates, and the fest highlighted the importance of nurturing a love for languages and cultural heritage.

Mathematics Fest – Math Unfolded 2025

On 10 November, the Mathematics Department hosted Math Unfolded – Interschool Mathematics Competition 2025, with thirteen schools taking part. The event opened with a lively cultural performance, The Spectrum of Joy, setting a spirited tone. Judges Mrs. Vineetha Jophy, Mrs. Sheela Anita Joseph, Mr. Meshach Singh, and Ms. Siham Ghache evaluated innovative working models and 3D geometric designs. Winners were honoured in a formal prize distribution ceremony, reinforcing mathematics as the “Queen of Sciences” and its indispensable role in problem-solving.

English Literary Fest – InkSpire 2025

The series concluded with InkSpire 2025, held on 11 and 12 November, with 15 schools registering for the fest. Competitions included Mystery Story Builders, Trial by Fiction: The Literary Court Room, Voices from a Time Capsule, Declamation, and Choral Cadence. A distinguished panel of judges Mr. Tahir Mahmood,  Expert-  Gulf Pakistan School, Ms. Sharon Singh,Expert -FBS, Mr Haithem Bensalah, Expert,  FBS, Dr Romel P. Ramos, SHS Department Head -Philippine International English School, Mr. Jan Ralph Altares, English Coordinator-Philippine International English School, Mr. Balakrishnan K P, Owner & English Language Trainer - Elixir International in Kuwait oversaw the events, recognising top performers with medals, certificates, and special titles. Group competitions were additionally awarded mementoes, celebrating teamwork alongside individual brilliance. Participation certificates were given to all, while bookmarks were distributed to students  as tokens of appreciation.

Leadership and Vision

The success of all three fests was underpinned by the dynamic leadership of Dr S. Prashant Vasudev, Principal of Gulf Indian School. His vision of holistic education transformed each competition into a platform for authentic expression and inclusive excellence. From emphasising the cultural richness of Arabic, to highlighting Mathematics as the cornerstone of scientific thought, and celebrating the enduring power of words through InkSpire, Dr Vasudev united tradition with innovation. His guidance inspired students to excel beyond classrooms, reaffirming the school’s dedication to nurturing articulate, compassionate, and visionary learners.

A Celebration of Excellence

Across all three fests, judges were honoured with mementoes as a gesture of appreciation for their valuable contributions. The November competitions stood as a testament to Gulf Indian School’s commitment to fostering talent, celebrating diversity, and inspiring students to achieve excellence.
