ICSK AMMAN STUDENTS VISIT INDIAN NAVAL SHIPS

icskA group of 23 students of ICSK Amman that included the core Senate along with the Vice-Principal Dr. Mary Isaac and Senate Advisor Mrs. Aleyamma Satish visited the Indian Naval Ships that were in Kuwait on a friendly visit. The ships from India’s Western Naval Fleet Command included INS Delhi, INS Tarkash and INS Deepak.

The visit was held on Saturday, 14th May 2016.   The students were received by the crew members of the ship. They were taken to the front of the ship and were explained about the history and various activities of the ship. As INS Delhi is a destroyer class ship, the students were explained about the various fire-arms used in the ship. The ship had 2 Sea King helicopters also. The students were also told that the ship consisted of approximately 30 officers and 350 sailors. They were encouraged to be part of the Indian Naval Force in future and live up to their motto “I covet victory everywhere”.

The students were awestruck on learning of the sacrifices the Navy men do to protect our nation. The protective uniform of the security men consists of the naval uniform, a 5 kg bullet armor and the classic 4 kg assault rifle.

The visit was very informative and interesting and gave the students a clear picture about the activities of an Indian Naval Ship. The students are indeed very thankful to the ICSK authorities for giving them this memorable and valuable opportunity.
