Whizkid Award Ceremony From ICSK Amman
EXTRAVAGANT WHIZKID AWARD CEREMONY HELD AT ICSK AMMAN
A spectacular ‘Whizkid’ ceremony was organized on 10th February, 2016 at the Indian Community School Kuwait, Amman branch.
The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. Vinod Grover, President of IDF and consultant surgeon at Jahra hospital. The other dignitaries who attended the ceremony were Hon. Secretary to the Board of Trustees of ICSK Mr. Vijay Karayil, Parents’ Advisory Council members Mr. Mohammed Rafi, Mrs. Shilpa Reddy, Mr. Sunny Mathew and Mrs. Zahabiya Motiwala, parents and teachers.
Principal of ICSK Amman Mr. Rajesh Nair C. welcomed all the guests and informed that each child of the ICSK is seen gifted with special talents. Whizkid is the right platform to encourage them to come forward and display their capabilities. In the Presidential address, Mr. Vijay Karayil appreciated all the winners, participants, teachers and parents for all their accomplishments. He conveyed that all the parents must encourage their children with continued support throughout the schooling. Dr. Vinod Grover addressed the gathering with immense pleasure and expressed his joy on being a part of the function. The Vice-Principal Dr. Mary Issac briefed about the Whizkid competitions and appreciated the efforts of parents, coordinators, teachers, judges and all the students.
The students of the pre-primary section created a colourful ambiance with their beautiful attires. The ceremony began with the school prayer and proceeded with a welcome speech by the students of UKG, a welcome song and six spectacular dances, performed by the little ones.
The Whizkid Competitions are a blend of a variety of different competitions held for LKG and UKG together for a week. The competitions were Origami, Action Song, Memory test, Show ‘N’ Tell, Collage work,Dance Competition, Quiz and Recitation which were conducted during the month of January 2016. The teachers and the parents collectively nurtured and trained the children bringing out the artistic, musical and other talents in them. The Winners of Whizkid from LKG and UKG were crowned and awarded with trophies and certificates.
Whizkid winners from each section of LKG are Iffat Fatima LKG-A, Kripa Ann Lewis and Rida Majeed LKG-B, Amritha Unnikrishnan LKG-C & Tabinda LKG-D.
Whizkid winner from each section of UKG are Reema Jafar UKG-A, Shannen Mariam Manoj UKG-B & Shiza Aves Hamdulay UKG-C.
9 students were awarded with the 1st runners-up trophies and certificates. 10 students were awarded with the 2nd runners-up trophies and certificates.
Amman Branch auditorium glowed with the beaming young winners, their gratified teachers and proud parents. Indeed, the enthusiasm of parents, the hard work of children and the teachers brought out the best in the students making the show a great success.
The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Mrs. Julie Anthony, the supervisor of the pre-primary section and the students of UKG section.
