The Indian Community School Kuwait, Amman, organized a highly motivational and inspirational lecture event for the students of Class VIII to Class X at the school auditorium on 17th May, 2015.
A well-known accomplished great poet, lyricist, scriptwriter, Vice-Chancellor of Malayalam University, Ex-Indian Administrative Service Officer and former Chief Secretary to Kerala Dr. K. Jayakumar was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Hon. Secretary to the board of Trustees Mr. Vijay Karayil also graced the occasion.
The program began with a prayer sung by Mrs. Sheeba Peyton. The prayer song was written by Dr. K Jayakumar, the Chief Guest of the event.
Principal, Amman branch Mr. Rajesh Nair C, welcomed the audience followed by a speech by the Hon. Secretary Mr. Vijay Karayil. Mr. Vijay Karayil, in his address, thanked Dr. K Jayakumar for accepting the invitation at a short notice and honoring ICSK with his presence.
In his inaugural address, Dr. K Jayakumar expressed his pleasure at the opportunity of sharing his experience and thoughts with the ICSK community. Dr. K Jayakumar emphasized that he believes God has given talent and abilities to all children and relevant knowledge and right skills imparted to them pave to nurture these talents and realize their potential.
He further said that compared to other nationalities, the simplicity of Indians is most appreciable. His personal advise to the students was that to be successful in life, one should implement and follow two types of triangle i.e. performance triangle and charger (LPG) triangle. Performance triangle consists of commitment to oneself, commitment to society and commitment to knowledge. To keep one charged with performance, we need to have the LPG charger triangle which consists of Love, Passion and Gratitude. He asked the students to follow two triangles in their life to develop and shape their character. Dr. K Jayakumar fascinated the audience with his inspirational and thought provoking speech.
As a token of love and appreciation, Hon Secretary Mr. Vijay Karayil and parent representative to the board of trustees Mr. Santosh Mathews presented a memento to Dr. Jayakumar. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the academic supervisor Mrs. Sumitra Nandakumar.
