Investiture Ceremony (Seniors)- 2015-16
India International School unraveled its glorious vistas of events for the year 2015-16, with the inauguration of the Investiture Ceremony (Seniors). It was a serene celebration which started around 8.00 a.m. on April 30th 2015. His Excellency Mr.Sunil Jain , Ambassador of India to Kuwait graced the occasion. He was offered a red carpet welcome by the dignitaries of the school – the Director Mr.Malayil Moosa Koya, Principal Mr.F.M.Basheer Ahmed, Sr Vice Principal Mrs.Narinder Kaur, and Section Vice Principals Mrs.Indulekha, Mr.Saleem, Mrs.Sapna Raoof and Mrs.Sophy, accompanied by the new council members. The programme started invoking the blessings of the Almighty by reciting the Holy Quran.
The Principal delivered a warm welcome note referring to the earlier associations between the Chief Guest and IIS. He insisted how the school functioned successfully having discipline as its axis. He instructed the student council to imbibe the indispensable leadership quality “Go the way and show the way”. He stressed on the need of the hour “Think globally and act locally”.
After this our Director honoured the Chief Guest by presenting a bouquet and the audience geared up to listen to the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest Mr. Sunil Jain enlightened the students on the importance of achieving the topmost positions in all walks of life. He assured to extend all kinds of support from the Embassy’s and to help them to do so.
It was a spectacular sight watching the Chief Guest, the dignitaries and the House Masters and Mistresses conferring the badges to the various council members and house prefects. This was followed by the momentous oath taking ceremony. The student council and the prefects of all the four houses- Shanthiniketan, Sarabhai, Nalanda and Homibhaba were sworn in by the Principal. An awesome silence prevailed everywhere, when the principal chanted the oath and the council members repeated it. This eventful ceremony was suitably followed by the effective speech of the Head Boy and the Head Girl. Both of them proved the gift of the gab. The CBSE toppers for Class X and XII were also honoured along with Spell Bee winner at GCC level on this occasion. The next segment of the day was the essence of the variety entertainment- a spell binding Bharatanatyam performance by Prathibha of IV standard, a child prodigy- the next in this series were a song, a synchronization of music and a fusion dance.
The programme came to a close with this congenial note of the council and the house prefects realizing their responsibilities ahead. They had promised to explore the new roads less travelled and take the institution to better heights with the blessings of the IIS family.
