INDIA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL ECO WARRIORS AT THE BEACH

Earth Day was celebrated in India International School, Mangaf on 23^rd April, 2014 in a memorable way. In order to boost the enthusiasm and awareness of the environment, a beach cleaning activity was conducted for the students of class V. Bubbling with energy and enthusiasm the little hands picked up garbage and experienced the importance of cleanness. They learned and realized that the earth we live in should be protected and preserved. The participants got a perception for caring nature. The beach cleaning team was flagged off by the principal Mr. F.M. Basheer Ahmed and senior vice Principal Mrs. Narinder Kaur. It was organized by the section vice principal Mrs. Sapna Raoof and CCA Incharge Mrs. Sridevi Neelakannan.

A special assembly was conducted by the students of class III E under the guidance of the class teacher Mrs. Shahija. The students were dressed up in green colour with the head gear bearing the slogan ‘Go Green’. Colourful charts were displayed based on the slogan ‘Plant a tree today’, ’Reuse, Recycle, Reduce’ and ‘Make Earth Day every day’.

Handmade Earth Day badges made by the students were distributed during the assembly. A Sapling Plantation campaign was organized and it was initiated by the Director Mr. Malayil Moosa Koya. The Principal Mr. F.M. Basheer Ahmed, Senior Vice Principal Mrs. Narinder Kaur, section Vice Principal Mrs. Sapna Raoof and assembly in charge Mrs. Noor joined hands with him. A song and a dance performance based on the Earth Day were showcased by the students. The assembly showcased both student’s knowledge and their care for the environment.

Hand writing, Painting and Poster making competitions were also held in this regard.

Director Mr. Malayil Moosa Koya appreciated and encouraged the students in all the activities. India International School partizen cleaning team with the support of the Director proved that each and every child can contribute their share to protect the environment.
