“I have never in my life learned anything from any man who agreed with me” declares Dudley Field Malone, an American liberal activist. And that precisely was the intention behind conducting the inter house debate competition on Thursday, 17th April ‘14. There were sixteen participants from the four houses and the debate was conducted in two sessions. The first two teams debated on the contemporarily relevant topic, “Text books kill the imagination of children.” And the second session had the topic “Globalisation had done more harm than good.” The participants had been selected by the respective house wardens from classes 9 to 12. All participants lived up to the dictum that a debate is not a mundane clash of personalities but a scintillating clash of ideas. All participants were evaluated based on the criteria of Content, Presentation and Rebuttal. The names of the participants  are: Chitika Vasudeva, Ishwi Cherian, Keerthi Senthilkumaran and Adithya Ashok from Truth House, Vivek George, Nanditha Venkataraman, Annarose Kannampuzha. Shruthi Sair Purnima from Faith House, Namrata Elamaran, Devyani Hemant Rathod, Kyle Hayden Rodrigues and Someh Harshvardhan from Harmony House and Rishabh Bahri, Pulakit Mishra, Prasanna Reddy and Niharika Sunil from Peace House. Aditya Ashok and Vivek George were adjudged the Best Speakers from session 1 and session 2 respectively. The Principal announced the results and appreciated the speaker for their efforts and congratulated the winners. It was an exhibition of the debating skills of the young debaters of FAIPS, DPS who were able to live up to the high standards of this prestigious institution.
