Bid to cut number of unskilled labor
 
KUWAIT: The Labor Department at Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has been working on a special study regarding the number of expatriate personnel in every vocational sector and effects of increased components of the population in Kuwait, reports Al-Anba daily quoting an informed source.

He revealed that the study is aimed at initiating new decisions that will be effective in organizing the labor market in order to reduce the number of unskilled labor.

He indicated that the approval of the study will lead to review of workforce allocation which will be approved this year in collaboration with the concerned authorities such as Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Government and Manpower Restructuring Program.

He revealed that the officials will review the rules and regulations related to transfer of commercial visa to work permit.

He explained that the ministry will specify vocations for which transfer applications will be granted after considering the commercial visa, university degree and payment of fees, stressing that recruitment of expatriate personnel will be limited to certain vocations.
