 The Kuwait Club for Mind Games is gearing up to host the First Kuwait International Chess Festival, set to begin on Sunday, January 5. This highly anticipated event will welcome over 300 skilled chess players from 25 countries, making it a landmark occasion in Kuwait's sports calendar.

The nine-day festival features an array of tournaments catering to different skill levels and categories:

According to the club’s chairman, Faisal Al-Kandari, the event promises to deliver intense competition due to the participation of some of the world's top chess talents. In a press statement, Al-Kandari extended a warm welcome to all participating delegations, expressing confidence in the event's success.

Bashaier Al-Zaid, Chairwoman of the Organizing Committee, emphasized the importance of the festival in promoting chess both locally and internationally. She highlighted the festival's role in elevating the game’s profile, expressing optimism for its success across all tournaments.

“This championship stands out as one of the most prestigious chess events in the region, drawing world-class players to compete for the coveted title,” Al-Zaid stated.
