This significant step will enhance the efforts of the Permanent National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants.

Government Acknowledgment

In a statement, the Ministry of Justice expressed gratitude for this humanitarian initiative. The Minister of Justice, alongside the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Wasmi, who chairs the committee, thanked the Central Bank for this historic move.

Impact on Low-Income Workers

This initiative will particularly benefit individuals employed in simple service and craft jobs, as well as domestic workers. It is designed to guarantee the rights of these groups while also protecting employers, aligning with the applicable laws concerning work in the private sector and for domestic workers.

The cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the Central Bank of Kuwait marks a pivotal moment in safeguarding the rights of low-income workers and enhancing the country’s efforts to combat human trafficking.
