A group of Bangladeshis has been arrested for selling ration food
In a joint operation with the Ministry's inspectors, the Electricity Emergency Department, and the Residence and Manpower Affairs Investigators, the Ministry's inspectors from the capital, led by Chief Hamed Al-Dhafiri, raided a warehouse in a house in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
Team members seized subsidized food items, including rice, sugar, and milk, that were stored and sold in bags owned by food companies. Al Rai reports that 11 Bangladeshis operated the store in Al Hasawi area, selling subsidized items illegally from the store, during the operation. Article 4 of Resolution 2016 of 2014, Law 79/10, forbids the sale, trade, or export abroad of goods that are subsidized by the state.
A Kuwaiti citizen with a ration card who sells or gives away their ration will have their card suspended and they will be summoned by the Ministry of Commerce to face the highest possible penalties. The violators were arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution Office to face legal action.
