Writers’ Forum Kuwait’s unforgettable poetic meet

GroupMoments of pleasure and pain become unforgettable and so becomes the hours that are spent in enriching our thoughts. One such unforgettable evening was witnessed by the members of the Writers’ Forum Kuwait who gathered at the residence of their President Mrs. Maimuna Ali Chougle on the pleasant evening of Friday, 27th September 2024.

The meeting started with the general secretary Ms Nazneen Ali welcoming everyone mentioning that commitment is the key for creativity and success of any association. She appreciated the commitment of member Yajuvendra Chandrakar and Ameeruddin Ameer towards the forum and invited them as the President and Chief Guest of the evening respectively. She also discussed the plan for the Forum’s next big event on the occasion of the Republic Day for which various possibilities are being worked out.

As a commitment towards the society and literature a detailed discussion was also held among the members about the ways the Forum could create a difference and groom the next generation.

The meeting then progressed into its poetry session that started with Ms. Nazneen Ali’s touching Ghazal in Urdu that was well complimented by Ghazal by Dr Rajesh Gupta. The dynamics and versatility of Urdu poetry were further revealed by renditions by Mrs. Maimuna Ali Chougle, Sayeed Nazar Kadpawi and Syed Qadir Muzammil, each of them elevating the meeting to the next level of excellence.

Dr Radhika Guleri Bhardwaj, Ms. Kalpana Shah and Dr Vinod Kumar presented captivating Hindi poetries with thought provoking subjects. Ms Kalpana Shah’s couplets in Gujrati were equally mesmeric.

In the closing session Ameeruddin Ameer’s Kannada poetry on a very sensitive social issue of dowry was much appreciated. In his remarks as Chief Guest he mentioned that the articles and poetry presented in the evening were riveting and engrossing. He expressed his gratitude to the members of the Forum for recognizing his commitment and urged others to follow the same.

Yajuvendra Chandrakar, the President of the evening further added to the appreciation and admired each poet individually quoting the key couplets that served as a gist of each presentation. His emotional poem in Hindi justified his position as the President of the meeting.

The presence of Forum's patron Mr Ali Chougle and Dr Rubina Chougle made the meeting a special one to be reminisced forever.

The meeting ended with savory dishes and heartwarming gratitude towards the host Mrs Maimuna and Mr Ali Chougle
